Nurturing the Summer Heart
with Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Gong
A one-day retreat with Jenny Lampard
Sunday 14 June 2015, 10am – 4.30pm
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the heart is considered the ruler, the emperor of the body organs (the other main ones being the spleen, lungs, kidneys and liver). It commands the movements of our limbs, circulates the blood which nourishes the whole body, is involved in our decisions physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Our heart is like the senses, it receives almost constant information first and, depending on our character, affects the rest of the body. In TCM the heart is considered to be the dwelling place of the spirit. Allowing ourselves to support and nurture the heart will help to keep all the other organs, and therefore the body, mind and spirit in balance.
This one day retreat on the cherished, beautiful land of Tir Heddwch, will introduce some Tai Chi Chuan practice and specific prescriptions related to supporting our hearts through Chi Kung. No previous experience is necessary and the day will support existing health practices.
Please wear / bring warm comfortable clothing.
Cost: £30 (£25) per person, including vegetarian lunch and refreshments
